Agencies in noncompliance with the revised home health Conditions of Participation (CoP) will face deficiencies, which can result in termination from the Medicare program—as well as potentially ruinous per-day monetary penalties—following a survey. The new CoPs require significant work and attention, and they call for updates to policies and procedures. Furthermore, new areas of survey focus and interpretation add difficulty for providers.

Join expert speaker Robert Markette for this 90-minute webinar and analyze survey trends under the revised home health CoPs, examining the most common survey citations and how agencies can achieve compliance. As part of the webinar, Markette will walk agencies through common problems with policies and procedures and discuss what 2019’s top deficiencies will likely be based upon survey results from 2018. Join Markette at the end of the program for an educational live Q&A session and get your most pressing questions answered!

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Learn what surveyors have targeted during surveys since the revised CoPs were implemented in January 2018—some of their concerns may surprise you
  • Identify how to avoid deficiencies in the areas surveyors have targeted—including care coordination, QAPI, and patient rights
  • Determine which areas surveyors are likely to target in 2019 and beyond
  • Understand specific policy and procedure changes agencies should make to comply with the revised CoPs

  • Common survey deficiencies and surveyors’ top target areas in 2019

  • Necessary training to ensure agency staff understand not only the CoPs, but also policies and procedures, chain of command, and other areas of surveyor scrutiny
