Agenda

Session 1
Anatomical Know-How: Boost Coding, Improve Communication With Clinicians
Marcy Garuccio, ACS-AN, CANPC, CPMA, CPC, AAPC Fellow, Sole Proprietor - Advanced Medical Practice Management, LLC
Laura McNeill, MD - Allegheny General Hospital
You don’t need medical training to code and bill claims, but you do need anatomical knowledge to decipher notes, spot missing information, and ensure your claim submissions are accurate. Join a board-certified anesthesiologist and a coding/compliance specialist for an anatomical session designed for coders. At the end of the session, you’ll know how to connect anatomical terms to the codes you report on a regular basis and how to get the information you need from clinicians with a minimum of confusion. In addition, you’ll find it easier to learn about new procedures and techniques.

Session 2

Six new anesthesia codes and two new codes for minimally invasive treatment of chronic low back pain are some of the changes in store for 2022. During this specialty-specific presentation, our physician/coder team will guide you through every change that will impact your practice. You’ll start the new year ready to accurately report new procedures and train your clinical staff to produce documentation that speeds up coding and stands up to audits.

When this session ends, you’ll be able to explain the new regulations, coverage decisions for new and revised codes, and the conversion factors that will control your revenue in 2022.
