The fee schedule is, without question, the single most important financial tool in any business and a medical practice is no exception.  Having a properly prepared and defensible fee schedule is paramount when it comes to fairly and honestly representing the value of the services and procedures provided by a healthcare provider.  Payers demand it and patients deserve it and it is incumbent on the practice to do the right thing.  While there are different viable methodologies one can employ, such as hourly rates, cost-plus-markup, etc., it is always important to be able to benchmark the results against your peers.  This is often the only way to get a handle on competitive and market dynamics.  Our fee schedule workbooks are designed to not only provide you with accurate benchmark information but are also the only data sets of their kind to also show variability and sample error, two metrics that are absolutely critical to understanding the value of the data.

The workbook itself includes charge data for 65 specialties for a specific state; from addiction medicine to vascular disease.  Each specialty tab, as you might imagine, contains charge data and statistics for that specific specialty.  In addition to the average charge for each procedure code, each worksheet also includes variation in the form of a standard deviation and sample error estimates in the form of an upper and lower bound for the 95% confidence interval.  Each worksheet also includes utilization data, which reports the utilization for that code as a percent of all procedure codes reported as well as its ranking amongst the other codes.    The workbook also contains a tab that reports average charge for all procedures by specialty in a matrix that allows you to compare a single code between all specialties.  Finally, to make sure that as many procedures as possible are represented; there is also a worksheet for the average charge for all specialties nationally as well as for the specified state.
